The new restaurant space and cuisine is designed and managed by the amazing company backing Hollywood’s iconic Yamashiro restaurant team. The Sand Diego Port Authority assuming “ownership of Seaport Village in 2018” — working in close coordination with property manager Protea Property Management, Inc. and broker Retail Insite to transform Seaport Village into a vibrant waterfront destination along the San Diego bayfront for locals and visitors.

A buzz-worthy lineup of new tenants includes Louisiana Charlie’s, Tuk Tuk Eatery, Mike Hess Brewing, and Eclectique Boutique.
Tenants opening over the next year include Zytoun Gourmet Mediterranean, Malibu Farm, Shorebird, Crack Taco Shop, and Gladstone’s.
BNG will be slammed currently refreshing and rebranding its — entire lineup of 3rd Base locations while overseeing several properties in Southern California, including the famous TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and Comedor Mediterranean bistro in Laguna Beach.
ABOUT PORT OF SAN DIEGO WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT
Port of San Diego Waterfront Development contributes to the continuous prosperity of the local economy.
From Real Estate to Aquaculture and Blue Tech, the Port invests in major redevelopment and community infrastructure, so businesses in our region have the opportunity to stay competitive in the global marketplace.
Since 2018, the Port has — successfully filled 24 spaces at Seaport Village — with a variety of uses including specialty retail, full-service and fast-casual restaurants, walk-up cafés, and a specialty market, among other new and exciting offerings.
Currently, the shopping center is approximately 92% occupied and the Port has lease agreements in place with 60 tenants and approximately four vacancies, most of which are concentrated in the Lighthouse District. The current tenant mix is comprised of 41 retail tenants and 19 food and beverage tenants.
Separate from this new lease, the Board has approved investment spending at Seaport Village of approximately $9.1 million to date. This includes:
- $2.5 million spent for sitewide enhancements, activations, and deferred maintenance.
Notable improvements include a brand refresh with new signage and exterior painting on the property’s iconic buildings; upgraded amenities like the Urban Beach, a picturesque seating area with Adirondack chairs facing the bayfront vista; flexible furniture throughout; and new, flourishing native plants. - $1.5 million to help new tenants renovate their spaces before opening for business.
- $5.1 million committed towards tenant improvements for new restaurant concepts. (Note: All dollar amounts are approximate.)
